About Us

Bolsterstone Male Voice Choir is a registered charity (No. 517581)

The choir was formed in 1934 when teenage choristers at the village church, St Mary’s, wanted to spread their musical wings.  Their choirmaster William Evans agreed to form an adult choir. This was the beginning of a remarkable story.  The choir grew rapidly,  became known as “England’s largest village choir” and was voted the best male voice choir in the world – twice!  Eighty-three years later  we are still going strong with 70  members, but are always on the look out for more!

A friendly, welcoming choir
